Item donor Susan H. Douglas's records indicate that this ribbon was once mounted as a sample on a sales card; the card read "B.B. TILT & SON / 477 BROOM ST. / N.Y. / TRADE MARK. / MANUFACTURED BY / THE PHOENIX MANUFACT'RING CO. / PATERSON, N.J." Item 2214.BB0275 is a larger B.B. Tilt 1876 Centennial ribbon with much of the same imagery repeated.
