Notes: Pictured here are the Bridge of Sighs and the Old Bridge, both leading from New Court to the Third court of Saint John's College, Cambridge. The library (Third Court), built in 1624, is on the right, and the bridge in the center (obscured by the bridge in the foreground) is modeled after the Bridge of Sighs in Venice. The Old Bridge was first suggested in 1697 by Sir Christopher Wren, and its design proved to be a modified version of his design and Hawksmoor's.
